Created in 1990, the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) has come to be identified as one of the world’s most comprehensive and recognized means for measuring building environmental performance. With a reported 425,000+ buildings utilizing BREEAM certification in 70 countries, BREEAM is one of the world’s most widely used assessments for sustainable building design, construction and operation.

When assessing a building, BREEAM gauges performance and evaluates building specifications covering a variety of categories, including energy and water use, ecology, materials and waste.

Every building that achieves BREEAM certification is considered for the BREEAM Award. This annual distinction recognizes buildings that excel in every category, and represent an ideal example of projects that have been certified in the past year. On March 3, the 2015 BREEAM Awards recipients were revealed at the annual ceremony held in London..
