Small School, Big Accomplishment
Saint Martin's University building earns 97 point LEED Platinum rating.
Earlier this week the St. Martin’s Engineering Building at Saint Martin’s University – a small liberal arts school in Lacey, WA – was awarded a Platinum certification under the LEED for New Construction 2009 rating system. Why is this a big deal? The building earned 97 points, making it the highest scoring LEED NC 2009 project in the United States, second only to the Pixel Building in the world. In LEED’s history only a handful of projects have earned 97 or more points under any rating system, including:
- The Change Initiative TCI – Dubai, UAE (107 Points)
- Pixel – Victoria, Australia (105 Points)
- Integral Group Deep Green Office – Oakland, CA (102 Points)
- ITC Green Centre – Gurgaon, India (99 Points)
- The Bridge Building – Nashville, TN (99 Points)
- St Martins Engineering Building – Lacey, WA (97 Points)
