About GBIG Data :: GBIG Insight

Information about LEED-certified and registered projects, including credit achievement and location data, is provided to GBIG from the LEED Online project directory, based on information submitted by project teams and reviewers during the certification process. LEED project data is refreshed nightly, so recently-certified LEED projects should appear in GBIG within 24 hours. Projects marked confidential by the project administrator are not displayed in the project directory, and therefore will not appear in GBIG maps or tables. Confidential projects are included in aggregate data about places and rating systems, for instance the number of LEED-certified projects and gross square footage of LEED-certified space.

Information about LEED professionals is provided to GBIG from the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) and is updated quarterly.

Information about USGBC members is obtained through the membership application process. Demographic and economic data is self-reported by the member organizations and is not independently verified. USGBC membership data is updated quarterly in GBIG.

Information about non-LEED green building activities is provided by third parties and/or gathered from publicly available sources, and is updated according to the frequency determined or allowed by the provider. For example, Information about Energy Star labeled buildings is updated nightly, as the U.S. Department of Energy makes this data available via live web services which can be accessed in real time, whereas information about AIA/COTE award winners is updated annually, since the awards are given on a yearly basis. For official information regarding non-LEED programs we recommend contacting each third party provider directly.

While every effort is made to accurately represent data in GBIG, errors and omissions may occasionally be present in the source data, which will in turn appear in GBIG.

USGBC and GBIG claim no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy or completeness of data represented in GBIG. Users seeking confirmation of LEED-certification status and LEED Project data may contact the project owner or administrator directly.

Information submitted for the LEED for Existing Buildings Rating System is based on actual performance data. However, the information and thus the improvement and/or reduction measures, for other LEED Rating Systems, is based on modeling of the design of the project’s construction, and should not be relied on to determine the actual performance of a project.
